Opal the dog needs a new home!Stefanie Anderson
Opal is a Shepherd cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is around 18 months old.
A sweet natured girl she really is a very well trained dog who is good with commands and walks well on the lead. Opal is looking for an adult only home.
Opal has not had a great start in life and has already had three homes, unfortunately a lot of this is due to her treatment in her past which has resulted in her having trust issues and the need to build strong bonds with her owners. As a result Opal has a great fear of strangers particularly men we are advising that she does need a home that is respectful of this and will continue to work with her behaviours and understand her needs to be protected in these situations.
Although she is great with commands, training and walking, she will need continued training and socialisation to help with her trust and development. She loves to play and will chase a ball and release it, she loves her soft toys and is great in the house settling into routines.
Opal does get on with other dogs and will play with them but because of her need to build a bond with her owner we are advising that she is the only dog in the home with no cats or small furries as she does like to chase. She needs a home that is experienced with dogs and are willing to put in the work required.
We are asking that Opal has a number of meet and greets with any potential adopter and this will be discussed on application. Please complete an application form by clicking on Opals picture under the dog adoptions tab. All viewings are by appointment only
