Cat, Rabbit & Small Animal Care Volunteer


**** We are currently recruiting volunteers for our 11 am – 2 pm shift ****

We are most in need of weekday volunteers who can commit to one shift a week.

We are also looking for weekend volunteers who could commit to one shift every 4-6 weeks.


We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help care for our gorgeous cats, rabbits and small furries at our Brixworth base.

We are looking for volunteers who can work independently supporting our Animal Care Supervisors. We have divided the Animal Care Volunteer role into two parts –

9 am – 11 am – Cleaning and feeding duties at our Hope Cattery and Bunnery. Working with our welfare team to ensure all our animals are healthy and happy.  

11 am – 2 pm – Assist with the cat and bunny socialisation, meet and greets with adoption viewings, cleaning animal accommodation, other general duties.

Volunteers must be 16+. We accept work experience and Duke of Edinburgh students. Training will be given.

Home visitor

Join our home visitors and help carry our checks on the homes of those wanting to adopt from the branch. Find out more.

Volunteer Driver

We are urgently looking for volunteer drivers to help with the transportation of branch animals

We need help with animal collections, transfers and vet runs. The role will be mainly supporting our Welfare Manager with taking animals to and from the vets.

Hours can be flexible but ideally, Monday – Friday, 8-10am and 3-6pm. Must be confident to drive our Branch van.

Charity Shop Assistant

We have 6 busy shops throughout the county. We are looking for volunteers to prepare stock for sale by doing tasks such as tagging and steaming clothes. They are also vital for maintaining the presentation of our shop floors and serving customers using our modern and easy to use till systems.

Fundraising and Events

Help our team of fab fundraisers through different activities including events, collections and manning stalls. Find out more.

Reception & Administration

We are looking for volunteers to carry out admin tasks at our site in Brixworth. Do you have a few hours a week you can spare?
