When you are looking to adopt an animal from our branch please ensure that you meet all the required criteria before placing a reserve on an animal. Our team will ask you lots of questions to ensure you are fully prepared for a new addition to your family. Please don’t take offence to the questions, we are simply asking to ensure that you would be a good fit for the animal you would like to adopt.
All adopters must be aged 18 years or over.
If you are living in rented accommodation we will need to see a copy of your tenancy agreement or permission letter before a reserve can be taken.
Reserves on animals will only be held for a maximum of two weeks.
Many of the animals we re-home will require a home visit by one of our volunteers. The visits are to ensure your home is ready for a new pet. If you are wishing to adopt a dog, we will check that you have a safe and secure garden. Any remedial action required will be explained to you and a copy of the home visit report will be passed to us at the branch. All work must be completed within two weeks to avoid the reserve being taken off.
All existing animals within the property need to be vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
